Zone Chaser — Heart Rate Training Guide
Category: Fitness · 3-page printable PDF · Ages 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 · Free for ConnectedPE members
A heart rate zone training card with 15 exercises spread across five intensity zones, from Base to Peak. Students calculate their own personal heart rate zones, move through the exercises, record live data, then graph and analyse what they find — finishing with a design-your-own multi-zone warm-up task.
Zone training is how athletes actually structure intensity, and this card brings that literacy to Years 5–10: students stop thinking "hard or easy" and start thinking in zones, monitoring their own intensity rather than guessing. The data-recording sheet, personal zone calculator and bar-graph activity make the physiology concrete and personal. Mapped to ACPMP083, ACPMP084 and ACPMP064.
Three pages. Works with heart-rate monitors or manual pulse counts. Use it inside a fitness unit, as the practical layer of a training-zones theory lesson, or alongside the Cardio Graph Worksheet and The Movement Lab for a full heart-rate literacy sequence.
