Workout Producer — Training Principles Unit Plan
Category: Fitness · 9-page printable PDF · Ages 7-8, 9-10 · Premium resource
A unit plan using the Workout Producer iOS/Chrome app to teach the principles that make training actually work: FITT, progressive overload, specificity and reversibility. Students don't just define the principles — they apply them, designing progressive workout programs and producing evidence-based training videos that demonstrate each principle in action.
The app is the assessment vehicle: a student who can build a workout video showing progressive overload has understood it in a way no worksheet can verify. Nine pages of teaching sequence for Years 7–10, culminating in produced video evidence.
Part of the Workout Producer suite — pair it with the Assessment Mode rubric for marking and the self-assessment worksheet for reflection. Runs the same way as its sibling units (Fitness Components, Muscular System), so classes that have done one already know the workflow. The app is free at workoutproducer.app.
