The Rainbow Movement Challenge
Category: Games & Activities · 2-page printable PDF · Ages F-2, 3-4 · Free for ConnectedPE members
A colour-themed movement adventure where students journey through seven rainbow zones, each representing a different fundamental movement skill — explosive power, cardio, balance, jumping, flexibility, spatial awareness and creative movement. Complete the spectrum, complete the challenge.
The colour structure gives young movers a visual map of variety: seven zones guarantee a genuinely balanced movement diet in a single resource, while emoji self-ratings keep assessment friendly and honest. The create-your-own-movement finale hands students authorship just as their movement vocabulary peaks.
Two pages, zero equipment, indoors or outdoors, F–4. Run it as a full lesson journey, spread one colour per day across a week of warm-ups, or post it as an independent challenge board. The included tracker doubles as a simple evidence record of which skill families each student has explored — colour-coded, appropriately enough.
What students learn
Students practise 7 fundamental movement skills (explosive power, cardio, balance, jumping, flexibility, spatial awareness, creative movement), self-assess their performance using emoji ratings, and create their own movement.
