Splash Squad turns water safety into a 12-mission quest for ages 5–10, built on four golden words — Look, Ask, Float, Call — across four powers: Safe Around Water, Water Confidence, Move in Water and Water Hero. Missions run from Stop at the Edge and Ask First through Bubble Breaths, Star Float and Kick Kick Kick to real rescue behaviours: Reach Don't Reach In, Throw & Shout, and Call Triple Zero.

The clever part: no pool is required. Every mission can be taught, role-played and ticked off in the classroom, so the survival messages — never swim alone, reach or throw rather than go in — are rehearsed long before swimming season. The logbook adds What Would a Water Hero Do? scenario choices, swim-between-the-flags colouring, a draw-your-safe-swim-spot box and a Bronze–Silver–Gold ladder ending in a personal water-safe promise.

Two pages, pencils only (kickboard, noodle or reach-pole optional). Run it before Ocean Explorer: Swimming Challenge Progression Map takes skills into the water, and pair with Sun Safe Heroes for a summer-safety mini-unit.

What students learn

Recognise and practise water-safety behaviours — staying safe around water, building water confidence, floating and moving in water, and knowing how to seek help and call for emergency assistance.
