GymFlow — Build Your Floor Routine
Category: Gymnastics / Creative Sequence Design · 2-page printable PDF · Free for ConnectedPE members
A two-page gymnastics resource that hands routine design to the students. Working from a menu of 20 elements across four categories — Balances, Rolls & Rotations, Jumps & Leaps, Shapes & Links — students compose their own floor routine, calculate its difficulty score with combo bonuses, and judge each other's performances in structured peer assessment.
The scoring system is the clever bit: difficulty values and combo bonuses turn routine design into a strategy problem (safe and clean, or ambitious and risky?), mirroring how real gymnastics scoring works. A worked example demystifies the maths, and Bronze/Silver/Gold tiers keep entry accessible.
Creative sequence design, peer judging and performance in one resource — the culminating task a gymnastics unit deserves. Pair it with the Balance It eBook for element practice before composition begins, then run the final lesson as a judged showcase.
