Freeze Dance Party! — The Movement Sequence Game
Category: Dance & Rhythm · 2-page printable PDF · Free for ConnectedPE members
A freeze dance resource that upgrades the classic party game into sequence composition. Students learn eight dance moves from the move menu, then build their own six-move routine with the routine builder — plus a signature freeze pose they design and draw themselves.
Freeze dance already teaches rhythm, control and stillness-on-cue; the composition layer adds movement sequencing and memory. The dance star checklist and self-assessment keep it purposeful, and the drawing task gives every student a creative stamp on their routine — even the ones who'd rather draw than dance find their way in.
Two pages, music required, zero equipment. Use it for early-years dance units, indoor days, or brain breaks with substance. The final routines beg for a performance moment: half the class dances, half spots the freezes, everyone claps. A no-fear introduction to composition years before "choreography" enters the vocabulary.
