Dino Stampede
Category: Games & Activities · 3-page printable PDF · Ages F-2, 3-4 · Free for ConnectedPE members
A prehistoric chasing-and-fleeing game where nobody is ever out. Taggers are predators, runners are the herd — and when a dinosaur is caught, fossil rescue puts teammates to work freeing them, keeping every student active for the entire game rather than watching from the sideline after one tag.
Three self-selected challenge levels let students choose their intensity, which keeps a mixed-ability class in the same game at genuinely different stretch points. Underneath the theme, students are practising varied locomotion, spatial awareness, dodging and cooperative rescue — the core of early-years chasing games, mapped to AC9HPEF02, AC9HPEY202 and AC9HPEY402.
Three pages, zero equipment, F–4. Use it as a high-energy lesson centrepiece, a warm-up staple, or the example you point to when explaining why elimination games waste the practice time of exactly the students who need it most.
