Cardio Graph Worksheet

Category: Fitness · 1-page printable PDF · Ages 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 · Free for ConnectedPE members

A printable data-recording worksheet that turns any workout into a cardiovascular investigation. Students plot heart rate or perceived exertion across a session — warm-up through peak work to recovery — then analyse the curve they've drawn: where did intensity spike, how quickly did they recover, and why did different activities demand different things from their heart?

Graphing their own physiological data makes the invisible visible. A number on a heart-rate monitor is abstract; a line rising and falling across their own workout is evidence they generated themselves — and interpreting it is genuine health literacy, connecting exercise intensity to cardiovascular response.

One page, endlessly reusable across Years 5–10. Pair it with any fitness circuit, run it during a fitness-testing unit, or use it alongside the Heart Rate Responses to Exercise task for a deeper physiology sequence. Works with heart-rate monitors, manual pulse checks, or RPE ratings when no tech is available.

What students learn

Students record and graph cardiovascular workload across a workout session, identify intensity peaks, and explain how different activities place varying demands on the cardiovascular system.
