Throwing Analysis Activity
Category: Sport Skills · 4-page printable PDF · Ages 8-12, 10-16 · Free for ConnectedPE members
A student-led movement analysis worksheet — observe a partner's overarm throwing action, break it down against six technique cues, and record what you see. Completes the analysis-activity trio alongside Running Analysis and Striking Analysis.
Focuses on the basic movement pattern of throwing: side-on stance, arm position, step forward, hip/upper-body rotation, shoulder-and-elbow sequence, and follow-through. Students observe (with the eye or via video-analysis apps) and complete the analysis table. Suits Years 3–8 in indoor or outdoor settings with tennis balls or any throwable object.
