The Balloon Volley Quest — a student activity card and journal for practising volleying with the most forgiving object in PE: a balloon. Twelve missions progress through two-hand volleys, body bounces, solo keep-ups and partner rallies, all built on the Watch–Under–Soft–Up cue so early movers internalise the technique language from the start.
Balloons slow everything down, which is exactly what F–4 learners need for object control: time to track, time to move underneath, time to succeed. The mission structure lets students self-pace — tick off each challenge in their journal, celebrate the wins, and build toward sustained partner rallies. Mapped to AC9HPEFM01, AC9HPE2M01 and AC9HPE4M01.
Use it as a fundamental-movement-skills station, a self-directed warm-up, or the foundation weeks of a net-games unit before introducing beach balls and volleyballs. Two pages, minimal equipment (balloons and space), maximum touches per student.
What students learn
Develop object-control fundamental movement skills through volleying — watching the object, getting the body underneath, using soft controlled taps, and rallying solo and with a partner.
Topics: volleying, balloon, object control, fundamental movement skills, hand-eye coordination, partner activity
