Motivating Physical Activity with Technology
A professional development course for PE teachers, presented by The PE Geek. Part of the Technology in PE category.
Technology is often criticised for being passive — screens, sitting, scrolling. But what if it could do the opposite?
In this session, we explored how apps and digital tools can be intentionally designed to get students moving, sweating, and fully engaged in physical activity. Rather than replacing movement, we demonstrated how the right technology can amplify motivation, increase participation, and make active learning more visible and measurable.
From gamified challenges to real-time tracking and interactive class tools, this webinar showcased practical strategies for using technology as a catalyst for movement — not a substitute for it.
Because in PE, technology shouldn’t slow students down. It should get them moving.
