There is so much evidence around the benefits of play, kindness and gratitude. Adult life becomes complicated with added responsibilities and financial stress, and for children and adults, the well documented negative effects of social media are impacting on mental health every day and the ‘digital age’ contributing to us all being less active. We all know the importance of gratitude and exercise, so by providing easy tools that anyone can incorporate into their daily life, that cost nothing, we know we are contributing to the health of everyone’s mental and physical state. 1 in 5 Australians aged 16 – 85 experience mental illness in any one year. That is 20% of the population, and that number is rising. Along with the rise in mental health, 67% of Australians are overweight or obese. By providing unstructured play opportunities (free-play) and encouraging social interaction and a focus on gratitude, we provide a long-term strategy for Australian’s to help manage their mental state and to get them active and moving.
