Cross-curricular & Interdisciplinary learning in PE

An interdisciplinary unit rundown in which I will present a Secondary PHE unit I teach alongside Science and Humanities. In this Swimming unit, the students apply principles of motion they have learned in Science to learn about the importance of good swimming techniques. We use apps (like Hudl Technique) to film and analyze technique for improvement. The students also complete a project to design a plan for a device that would help them swim faster which they market in their Business class. The unit can also be adapted as a running unit (which we have had to do this year as the pool was closed due to COVID 19).

I will also touch upon a few other ideas for ways of incorporating cross-curricular connections in PHE units (specifically for MYP but could be applied to any curriculum).
